Synergy's Mission

Simply put, our mission at Synergy Business Coaching, Inc. (Synergy) is to help business owners to achieve their vision of success, maximize their returns on their business and live the life they want to live. We as entrepreneurs are motivated to start a business for many different reasons. Some of us start a business to gain financial independence and freedom to control our own destiny. Some of us have a great new idea that we are compelled to show the world. As professionals we start our own firms to build our own brand and clientele. Usually it's a combination of some or all of the above. However, in the day-to-day grind of dealing with the problems that crop up in every business we can lose track of our real motive for starting and owning a business among the emails, the client service calls and dealing with employee issues.

The Synergy Approach

Synergy happens when two or more people work together to create something bigger and better than they can on their own. At Synergy we work with owners and decision makers to re-discover what motivates them personally and in their business, clarify their goals and work with them to achieve those goals. We go through a careful process of evaluating and identifying the needs of each unique business we work with. We then draw from our extensive array of tools and experience to bring about real change in our clients' organizations. With real change come improved performance and with improved performance comes improved profitability.

About Matt Burkinshaw

As a seasoned small business owner and advisor, Matt dealt first hand with the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. He understands the HR issues, marketing and sales, strategic planning and financial issues that go along with running a small to medium size business.

Prior to starting Synergy, Matt owned a law firm where he focused on business law, transactional law, creditor's rights and commercial litigation. Over the past 17+ years, Matt has represented hundreds of small to medium size businesses from their infancy through their varied business cycles all the way through sale. He has worked with clients in many industries, including construction and building supply, professional practices (CPA, Lawyers and medical practices), staffing companies and IT consultants.

Matt holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the Boston College Carroll School of Management and a Law Degree from Suffolk University Law School. In additional to being a licensed Massachusetts attorney he is a licensed business coach with the Professional Business Coaches Alliance (www.PBCA.biz). The PBCA is an organization of over a hundred business coaches with various specialties on who Matt can rely for support and expertise in providing practical solutions for his clients.
